Syracuse Academy of Science is looking for an Operations Managers to fulfill the following job functions:

 

Operations Manager Roles

  • Coordinate with District Office to ensure smooth operations, identify needs, and facilitate flow of information
  • Ensures implementation and maintenance of clear systems that allow principals and teachers to focus on students
  • Support instruction and student achievement by maintaining excellent finances, facilities, infrastructure, HR/employee relations, and communication with families, district counterparts and other stakeholders
  • Support dean of school in all aspects of school leadership, including but not limited to staff and student culture, family communication and stakeholder relationships
  • Collaborate with charter personnel to project student enrollments, staff needs, building and facilities needs, energy needs, capital equipment needs and other cost items for the charter and individual school improvement

Budget Tracking Roles

  • Oversee school budget and spending and maintain internal control at the school

Building Manager Roles

  • Supervise main office, security, school nurse, maintenance, cleaning and transportation staff
  • Schedule events and facility usage (i.e. schoolwide events, programs, gym)

AP/Purchasing Roles

  • Prepare all documents before and after purchasing (i.e. approvals, quotes, packing slips, asset tagging)

AP/Purchasing Roles

  • Prepare all documents before and after purchasing(approvals, quotes, packing slips, asset tagging)

HR Roles

  • Communicate with HR department at District Office regarding HR needs of staff
  • Maintain and file HR documents
  • Train new hires for smooth transitioning
  • Ensure school-wide compliance with laws and regulations
  • Ensure that school-based employees receive payroll and benefits in timely and accurate manner

Activity Coordinator Roles

  • Arrange all extracurricular events and programs including transportation

Food Liaison Roles

  • Ensure school-wide compliance with health and safety laws
  • Managing lunch accounts-forms/claims/charges

Transportation Service Roles

  • Manage all students transportation service program
  • Arrange transportation for all events and activities, including fieldtrips

Other Operations Manager Roles

  • Maintain inventory-asset and inventory documents to secure school assets
  • Enable District Office to maintain soft copy documentation system in AP/purchasing
  • Work with IT Manager to coordinate the classroom and school technology issues
  • Local and state grant opportunities and grant application
  • Student enrollment and recruitment support
  • Manage relationships with all outside organizations and leads the school’s efforts to partner with organizations
  • Track student admission applications and maintain waitlist
  • Manage the school secretary and main office staff, and ensure the smooth operation of the main office i.e. mailings, attendance reporting, office machine maintenance
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned

Requirements

 

Bachelor’s Degree required. Degree in Business or a related field is preferred.
