Utica Academy of Science Charter School has openings for dynamic and nurturing Social Studies Teacher to cover a Long Term Assignment.

Must have New York State certification and fingerprint clearance through New York State Education Department. 

Classroom teaching experience required.

Education 

Bachelor's degree in Social Studies related field. 

• Strong content knowledge in the area of Social Studies at the secondary level.
• Maintains professional competence through professional development education activities provided by the District and/or in self-selected professional growth activities.
• Plans and demonstrates balanced science instructional program involving demonstrations, lectures, discussions, and student experiments; organizes laboratory activities and procedures for optimum learning.
• Communicates with parents and school counselors on student progress.
