Syracuse Academy of Science is looking for a Teaching Assistant to assist classroom teachers in grades K-4.

New York State certification preferred, Certification in ELA or MATH will be a plus.

Fingerprint clearance through New York State Education Department required.

Responsibilities and Duties

Teaching Assistant will assist with preparation and instruction:

a. manage student behavior

b. implement classroom policies and procedures

c. take attendance promptly within the first five minutes of each class

d. review and prepare lessons as needed in the classroom

e. update bulletin boards, make copies, and organize classroom materials

f. lead students to and from specials/lunch

g. be responsible for assigned duties

h. check homework trackers, reading logs, and homework daily

Qualifications and Skills

New York State certification preferred, Certification in ELA or MATH will be a plus.
