Utica Academy of Science is looking for a Science Teacher with a concentration in Chemistry.

Must have 3 years classroom teaching experience and or have a NYS Certification.

Required skills and qualifications

• Excellent content knowledge and pedagogy.
• Be ready to prepare students for the standardized tests relevant to the content area.
• Data-oriented individual, who can assess and analyze the data to drive instruction and to promote learning.
• Strong content knowledge in the area of Science at the secondary level.
• Maintains professional competence through professional development education activities provided by the District and/or in self-selected professional growth activities.
• Plans and demonstrates balanced science instructional program involving demonstrations, lectures, discussions, and student experiments; organizes laboratory activities and procedures for optimum learning.
• Communicates with parents and school counselors on student progress.
