SANY’s Utica Academy of Science is growing and we are looking for Substitute Teachers for the 2018-2019 Academic Year! SANY's academic year starts in August.

We have a great environment for new teachers and encourage experienced teachers to apply! New York State Certification preferred.

We need Substitutes who will:

• Follow the lesson plan provided by the classroom teacher
• Maintain appropriate records such as attendance and grades as directed by the classroom teacher
• Establish and maintain order in the classroom
• Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning
• Take all reasonable precautions to protect the safety and security of students, materials, equipment, and facilities
• Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules and administrative regulations

What you need

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master's degree preferred
• Certification preferred
• Experience with a diverse population of students or in an urban setting a plus
• Prior teaching experience preferred and novice teachers encouraged to apply!
• Fingerprint clearance through NYS Department of Education
