SANY’s Syracuse Academy of Science (K-12) campus has an immediate need for a dependable, full-time School Maintenance and Custodian

You will:

• Perform all activities that are custodial in nature and deemed appropriate by School Dean and/or Director
• Keep buildings and grounds neat and clean at all times.
• Clean and maintain all assigned workspaces and equipment.
• Collect and dispose of leaves, dirt, rubbish and refuse from charter facilities.

Maintain seasonal grounds work (snow, lawn).

• Assist in building and grounds security by locking all doors and gates after use and at end of work day.
• Follow charter safety guidelines when operating tools and equipment.
• Abide by established safety guidelines and operations to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.
• Make work area free from safety hazards, advise supervisor of any conditions that cannot be immediately corrected.

What you need

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required
• Fingerprint clearance through NYSED
• Previous experience as a custodian highly preferred

Competencies:

• Strong communication skills; careful attention to detail and follow-through
• Capable of operating riding or power mower, power tools, and hand tools
